Teacher training: other tools and experiences

This page offers self-study materials for teachers and other educational stakeholders. There are four modules: a discovery module, a module concerning the relationship between pluralistic approaches and language education policy, and two modules presenting specific uses of FREPA in the classroom. These modules can also be used by teacher trainers in their preparation of training sessions.

Using the materials in autonomous training

We would recommend that you form a small group with colleagues who are willing to work with this material. This will give rise to fruitful exchanges which will help develop useful knowledge. In the modules, we will often indicate precisely at which moments discussions should take place. Needless to say, it is perfectly possible to do this work alone if the circumstances do not permit otherwise.
Download the documents you will find on the page which features the module you are going to work on (cf. the menu on the left). This will make your task easier!
The Powerpoint is the backbone of every module. You will begin with this presentation which will indicate at which point(s) you will need to refer to the other documents.
Each module will require two to three hours to complete. It is always possible to stop working and to take up the task later on.

It also includes an evaluation questionnaire that can be used after working with the discovery module in training sessions.

Quelques expériences de formation

Il existe un projet national slovaque à long terme intitulé "Développement professionnel du personnel pédagogique" relevant du Centre méthodo-pédagogique (institution du Ministère de l'éducation slovaque préparant les formations accréditées) et financé sur fonds européens (ITMS 26120130002, 10/2009 – 2013). Jana Bírová a crée un programme de formation continue accréditée traitant du CARAP sous le nom de "Conception et mise en œuvre des approches plurielles des langues et des cultures dans l´enseignement des langues romanes". J'utilise le CARAP dans le cadre d’une formation interuniversitaire intitulée « Didactique des langues à l’école : approches plurielles » et qui est destinée à des étudiants des langues vivantes (anglais, espagnol, italien, etc.) et de Sciences du Langage. Les étudiants travaillent principalement à partir des nombreuses ressources accessibles sur le site du CARAP (Kit de formation, Référentiel, Banque de Matériaux Didactique). Parmi les différentes activités, j’amène les étudiants à consulter le site d’une part, pour prendre connaissance de certains contenus liés par exemple à la définition des approches plurielles, à la politique linguistique, à la formation des enseignants, et, d’autre part, pour accomplir une analyse détaillée des descripteurs (savoirs, savoir-faire, et savoir-être) en relation avec les activités proposées dans la Banque de Matériaux Didactique.
