Teaching and learning materials

This database aims to facilitate teachers access to educational materials relevant to pluralistic approaches to languages and cultures. This way they will be able to help learners appropriate their knowledge, attitudes, and skills as described in the lists of descriptors. The materials, available to download, can be selected according to various criteria: objectives (as expressed by the FREPA descriptors), levels of training, thematic areas, the type of pluralistic approach, and the language of instruction.

Description
The main purpose of this activity is to lead students to observe and analyze similarities and differences between the vocabulary of different languages. The languages concerned are German, English, the mother langue of the students and another language chosen by the students. The activity is though for students learning German.
The students are given 4 columns, some words over food in English and they have to translate the words into German and into two other languages.
The students have to deduce the rule of the use of the articles in German.
